Force USA VersaFit Tiles: Sizes, Specs, and What the Labels Mean
Force USA VersaFit tiles are a family of rubber gym floor tiles in four lines: the 15 mm Rubber tile, the 22 mm Gapless, the 20 mm Gapless WoodGrain, and the 12 mm Lock Grip Pro. The first three are listed at 39.4 inches (1 m) square, and single tiles run from about $49 to about $60. Watch the size labels, because the same listing also says 3 x 3 ft and implies three different coverage figures. Our gym floor material guide compares tiles with rolls, mats, and platforms.
The VersaFit lineup
| Line | Thickness | Size | Weight | How tiles join |

| Gapless WoodGrain | 0.8 in. (20 mm) | 39.4 in. (1 m) | 40 lb | Under-tile anchors |
| Lock Grip Pro | 12 mm | Sets of 9 or 12 | - | Puzzle edges |
From Force USA's product pages. A dash means the page doesn't list a figure.
Gapless and WoodGrain are dual-layer with a recycled rubber base, and Lock Grip Pro is recycled rubber. Force USA calls all of them low-VOC and noise-reducing, but we saw no certificate or test data on these pages, so treat those as seller claims.
What the size labels actually say
Here’s what the VersaFit Rubber listing said at our Nov 2026 check:
- Spec table: 39.4 in (1 m) square.
- Feature copy: “3’x3’ (39.4 in / 1 m)” square tiles, 15 mm thick.
- Option label: Starter Set (4 Tiles - 36 sqft).
- Description: a minimum of 9 tiles (100 sqft) for a home gym.
- Tile calculator: 1 m x 1 m per tile, and its script divides by 10.7639 square feet.
These can’t all be right, as 3 ft is 36 inches and 1 m is 39.4.
Same tile, two labels
The spec table says 39.4 inches, while the headline copy also says 3 x 3 ft.
Square feet per tile
Plan around 1 m until you've measured a real tile.
The gap matters on a real floor. Nine tiles cover 81 square feet at 3 x 3 ft and about 97 at 1 m, while the label says 100. Enter 100 square feet in the calculator’s formula and you get 10 tiles, not 9. Along a 12-foot wall, four 36-inch tiles fit exactly, while four 39.4-inch tiles run 13.6 inches over.
Our read is that 1 m is the likeliest true size, since the spec table and calculator agree, and 3 x 3 ft looks like a rounded nickname. We can’t confirm that without a tile in hand, so measure one or ask Force USA before you commit to a layout.
Prices and what you get
The starter set lists at about $200, and four single tiles come to about $195. Lock Grip Pro’s 12-tile set adds a third more area for a smaller jump in price.
Orders over 150 lb go by freight to the curb, and nine Rubber tiles weigh about 243 lb by our math, so plan on moving them from the driveway yourself.

Installation
Force USA’s manuals page lists no flooring products, so this comes from the product pages:
- Rubber. With no listed joining system, expect to butt tiles together and rely on weight.
- Gapless and WoodGrain. Each tile includes locking anchors that connect underneath, and Force USA says they allow staggered layouts, including a 50% brick offset.
- Lock Grip Pro. Puzzle edges snap together with no tools or adhesive, and Force USA says they lift off without residue. Sets make about 6 x 6 ft or 6 x 8 ft.
These pages don’t cover cutting or perimeter gaps. Other sellers suggest a sharp utility knife and a straight edge and a small gap at the wall. Force USA says the Rubber and Gapless tiles sit securely on concrete, hardwood, or existing tile. Over a finished floor, ask its maker about staining, and see our gym floor guide for subfloor checks.

Against the Bells of Steel mat, VersaFit is thinner and much cheaper per tile. Against French Fitness, it’s about the same price with 5 mm more rubber, though that tile interlocks. UltraTile costs far more per square foot, but it’s 1 inch thick with a listed FloorScore certificate and a 15-year limited warranty.
One spec looks off. By our arithmetic, the 15 mm tile comes to about 51 lb per cubic foot, while the 22 mm Gapless, listed at the same 27 lb, comes to about 35. Ask Force USA if weight matters to you. Our rubber gym flooring guide covers more tile options, and our Force USA guide covers the brand’s equipment.
Warranty and returns
Each VersaFit page links the same general Force USA policy. For home use it lists a lifetime term on the frame, 10 years on moving parts, and 1 year on upholstery and attachments, covering structural, cable, pulley, and workmanship defects. None of that names flooring, so we can’t tell you which term applies. Get it in writing.
Other terms are clearer. The policy covers US purchases by the original buyer, and using home-rated products commercially voids it. VersaFit isn’t on the commercial-grade list, so a commercial gym should ask first. Returns are allowed within 30 days, with a 15% restocking fee and return shipping deducted, which adds up on a heavy floor.

Safety
Our practical advice:
- Lift with care. At 27 to 40 lb, these tiles are awkward, so get help on stairs.
- Watch the edges. Tape or trim any lifted corner.
- Keep racks stable. Force USA says Lock Grip Pro works under its racks, but check for rocking on 12 mm rubber.
- Air them out. Ventilate a closed room at first.
FAQ
How big are Force USA VersaFit tiles?
The spec tables list 39.4 inches, or 1 m, square for the Rubber, Gapless, and WoodGrain tiles. The same pages also say 3 x 3 ft, which is smaller. Force USA's calculator uses 10.76 square feet per tile, which matches 1 m.
How many VersaFit tiles do I need?
Divide your square footage by 10.76 and round up, as Force USA's calculator does. Measure a delivered tile before cutting any.
Do VersaFit tiles have a warranty?
Each page links Force USA's general policy, which doesn't name flooring. Get the tile's term in writing before you buy.
Can VersaFit tiles go over hardwood or existing tile?
Force USA says the Rubber and Gapless tiles sit securely on concrete, hardwood, and existing tile. Ask your floor's maker about staining first.
