Editorial Policy
Every guide on this site is published under one byline: the GymBay Guides Editorial Team. This page explains what stands behind that byline.
We research, we don’t test
We don’t run hands-on tests of the equipment we cover, and we won’t write anything that implies we did. A guide tells you what manufacturers publish, what research reports, and how to weigh those facts for your own space and budget. If you need to know how a machine feels under load, a guide like ours can’t tell you, and we’d rather say that plainly.
Where facts come from
We use sources in this order:
- Manufacturer spec sheets and product pages, for dimensions, load ratings, warranties, and list prices.
- Peer-reviewed studies, for training claims. We describe the study’s size and limits rather than rounding it up to a general rule.
- Established retailers, for street prices and remanufactured units. We label these as retailer listings.
- Professional certifying bodies, for technique guidance.
We don’t use affiliate roundups as sources of fact. If a claim can’t be verified, it stays out. If two sources disagree, we use the manufacturer’s figure or leave the number out.
Prices
Prices are in US dollars and shown as ranges with the month we checked them and a link to the source. They change often, so treat them as a guide to the tier a machine sits in. The listing itself always has the final word.
Images
Diagrams on this site are original illustrations. We don’t copy manufacturer photos, logos, or descriptions.
Independence
We don’t sell equipment. Brand pages are independent guides, not partnerships, and no manufacturer reviews our guides before publication. See the affiliate disclosure for how the site handles commercial relationships.
Health and safety
Our guides are general information, not medical advice. If you have a knee, hip, or back condition, talk to a physician or physical therapist before you start a new exercise.
Corrections
We date every guide and update that date when the content changes. If you find an error, see the contact page for what to include. We’ll check it against the source and fix it if it’s wrong.
